Country Club Adjacent finds their form in golf fashion

CCA stuck their playful irreverence right into the fabrics

Country Club Adjacent stands out for their success in trying to be as anti-tradition as possible. Whether it’s through their divisive roasts on the tee box, their envelope-pushing methods of drug use, or their all around debauchery, they’ve made a name for themselves by showing the game of golf in a light that is really embraced by this new generation. It is not as much surprising as it is satisfying that their merchandise drop is more than just a normal “stick my logo on your polo” cash grab. The rugby shirt is a mix between Big Lebowski and Happy Gilmore, using the tried and true colors of nature to ground it in golf while also making it a street ready piece. The yellow lettering and the ironically formal font add a nice pop to this already colorful long sleeve. The irony continues in true CCA fashion as their stylish yet somewhat generic pocket t shirt is titled “The Industry shirt”, yet it’s cookie cutter front doesn’t prepare you for the unique and genuinely dope design emblazoned on the back. A large retro style teed up golf ball graphic flanked by two flags, with “untuck your shirt” dropped across the shoulders like a really long last name on an NBA jersey. Country Club Adjacent typed out on the bottom, and “ESTD 1969” across the middle. Nice.

Not only do these pieces sneak in the immaturish charm of CCA, but the accessories do as well. A cigarette carton shaped box of tees stamped with their classic Sasquatch logo is brought together with a funny and compact hand typed letter on the back. This Sasquatch also lives on the high quality socks that they are releasing, but none of the accessories stick out like “The Briefcase”. A high quality metal tin for pouches of any kind, comes in four colors; black and silver, but also a green and pink for those who like to stand out a little more.

Although this is just a short piece and a quick drop, I think that even amongst these few pieces, CCA shows that they are able to infuse their love for the game and their love for their audience into products beyond just their videos and podcasts. Branching out to merchandise is almost seen as a natural progression in the world of golf media these days (wink wink), but there a lot of cases of companies doing absolutely nothing except the same types of polos, rope hats, and head covers over and over, just changing the colors and logos. Not only are these pieces all very much Country Club Adjacent, bringing with them the humor and wit that these guys have a penchant for, but they have elements that are hand stitched, they are hand packed, and according to the men themselves, they are the fastest shippers in the world of golf. Just whatever you do, with whatever shirts you buy from them, there is only one thing to remember; do NOT tuck it in.
