Malbon Golf channels Magic City vibes with the Palm Tree Crew
Only in Miami could you pack a party at a golf store on Wednesday night

Malbon Golf has a unique way of shaping their vision and maneuvering their designs to fit their surroundings and convey the emotions that they want to. Their Buckets logo has been to the ocean, Pacific and Atlantic, the mountains of the British Columbia to the slopes of Colorado, and it fits in every time. The same can go for their clothes, whether it’s stylish climbing gear or a bucket hat for a sunny Florida day. They are able to find ways to bring the Malbon spirit to any location they decide to travel to. For me, being born and raised in Miami, I really love how the Malbon store there has been able to channel Miami culture in their clothing as well as with their beautiful physical location. With only a handful of stores in the U.S. (for now), it’s an honor that the Miami suburb of Coconut Grove was chosen as a city that reflects the type of place and people that can help bring forward a mission as great as Malbon’s. This mission, one that I share, is to grow the game of golf to a new generation and in never before seen ways, and they have taken yet another step in the right direction with their new drop and in store party for their collaboration with Palm Tree Crew.

A very vice-inspired collection, they use the classic blue and pink hues in dope methods, accenting their logos like never before. The classic light blue is used as the color of the sunglasses their Buckets character wears, and the pale pink of the flamingos is juxtaposed with a hot pink Ferrari. The designs are light and fun, capturing the aura not just of South Beach, but of the Palm Tree Crew event that this collection is releasing alongside of. Kygo’s festival and production company, they are committed to holding events and creating experiences that bring the sunny vibe of their music and lifestyle. It translated to the clothing perfectly. A small but stylish group of streetwear pieces, each creation stands on its own in one way or another. The pink Buckets t-shirt might be my new favorite Buckets logo (sorry S. Thompson), with his blue tinted glasses and blue striped bucket hat to match printed squarely and hugely on the back. The very light hue of the shirt combined with the black Malbon x Palm Tree Crew patch on the front brings vibes reminiscent of Club World Cup team Inter Miami F.C. Now that’s tuff. The logo and hoodie both come in a beautiful dark palm tree green, with the hoodie’s South Beach logo also seen on the back of the white pocket tee. It’s rounded out with a classic white Malbon rope hat that features who I’m naming Magic City Buckets right on the front.

The event itself was a rousing success, a packed house of golfers, clubbers, fashion lovers, and the beauty of Miami is that most people were a mix of all three. Coconut Grove is a legendary Miami suburb that in the last three years, has gone through an infrastructural overhaul, bringing in more restaurants, stores, and foot traffic than ever before. It is even turning into a nightlife hub for the locals, with bars and speakeasy clubs peppering the pedestrian friendly streets. Malbon Miami took expert advantage of this, holding the event RSVP free on a busy Wednesday night. Orange Calderon, the DJ, made sure the vibe was correct and everyone was holding it down, playing everything from Kygo hits to local reggaeton favorites. Bushmill cocktails were being poured front and center next to the Yubi hand roll bar, while bites of nigiri were walked around to the mingling mix of Malbon patrons. Physical golf stores remain the best way to bring the new wave of golf to the people, and Malbon has figured out how to infuse these events with the culture of their surroundings, just like they do with their clothing. The connection with the Palm Tree Crew just comes naturally through their familiarity with and love for Miami; the name really says it all. Events like this bring so many different types of people together, letting them all mingle in one space, just like the city of Miami itself. The beauty of Malbon is that at the heart of it all, it’s still about the beautiful game of golf.
