Hello everyone this email will go over everything you need to know for the inaugural Crest Cup! I can't wait to see you all there! Please see this email as well as today's newsletter, which releases at 2 PM, for a complete list of tournament details and scheduling. A complete list of tournament rules was released last week and can be found at WeekendersWeekly.com. Please see below, and thank you again for registering, only because of your support was I able to get such a great event for all of you!

Tournament Schedule:

10:30 AM- registration and range time opens

The registration table will open at 10:30 AM, 2 hours before the first tee time, and will remain open until 12:20 PM, 10 minutes before the first tee time. Once registered, players will receive 1-dozen Callaway Supersoft golf balls, 1 drink ticket for all golfers 21+, access to Sports Grille catering, and a code for 1 bucket of range balls. Feel free to have as much or as little warm up time as you need! We've left a nice two hour window for those who like to be early and those who like to be late. Just note, all golfers must be registered at the course before 12:25 to be eligible to compete.

11:30 AM- Lunch opens

Sports Grille food will be brought out for players to enjoy a comfortable hour before the first tee time. Players will be able to take food to go out to the course in the event of a scheduling problem, or just for being still hungry! It will be a catered lunch, so feel free to grab some food whenever you'd like.

12:25 PM- Toast

The tournament director will quickly go over all the rules of the tournament, detail the different prizes and giveaways being held, and more. All players need to be present, and the first pairing will go off immediately after. For those players going off later on the tee sheet, feel free to continue warming up after the pre-round speech until 2 minutes before your tee time.

12:30- First tee time

The first tee time goes off at 12:30 on the dot, with each following tee time going off at 6 minute intervals (subject to change). Players not teeing off can eat, warm up, socialize, etc. as long as they are at the first tee box no later than 3 minutes before their tee time.

5:00 PM- Awards ceremony

Everyone will gather for the Crest Cup presentation as well as the remaining prizes and giveaways. Exact time will be determined by the finishing of the last tee time.

For any further questions, please reach out to me at [email protected] or text or call 305-588-5080. The schedule is pretty flexible other than three important hard cut off times: registration closes at 12:20, all players must be present at the toast at 12:25 for a complete rules overview, and each player must be present for their tee time no later than 3 minutes before. If there are any conflicts with any of these times, please reach out. I'll make sure it all works out, don't worry! Really excited for this, remember to subscribe to the newsletter at WeekendersWeekly.com to stay up to date on any more information!

Tournament Rules

All USGA, local, and posted rules as seen on the Palmetto Golf Course scorecard and signage, in the clubhouse, and online are in effect. This includes rules regarding out of bounds stakes, yards, water hazards, etc. Any rule exclusive to the tournament will be denoted below with an asterisk.

  • There will be no strokes given in this tournament. Instead, players will play from different tee boxes depending on their skill level. There are three divisions:

30+ handicap- front tees

29-15- middle tees

>15- back tees

Players will play the tee box correlated to their personal handicap, not the team’s average. This is to ensure the absolute most fairness in this competition with the large range of skill in the competition and the teams themselves. Please be prepared to show proof of a handicap if asked.

  • There will be one optional breakfast ball allowed per player on the first hole and that is it. No other mulligans are available after the first hole. *

  • If a ball comes to rest on the cart path, on a root, on a rock, or some unhittable object or surface while in bounds, it can be moved to the nearest grass, dirt, or other hittable surface, no closer to the hole. For a player to be able to move their ball, they must confirm with at least 1 member of the other team in their foursome. *

  • All penalties and drops regarding water and out of bounds are in play as presented in the USGA, local, and posted rules.

  • A putt can only be considered “good” if it is signaled by one team to the other. A player cannot decide for themselves or their teammate if a putt is given or not. If a player picks up a ball that is not “given”, and their teammate does not have a ball in play, 2 strokes are added to the final score for that hole. *

  • There will be a zero tolerance policy on collusion, cheating, or any kind of dishonorable maneuver or action. If a team is confirmed to be the culprit of any type of cheating, collusion, score fixing, etc., they will be disqualified with no refund to their entry fee. *

  • Please keep pace of play to a solid pace that does not allow for large slowdowns on the course. This should not be done in a rushed manner, out of respect for yourself and the other golfers, yet in a manner that promotes a solid flow of time throughout the round.

  • Balls in bushes, behind trees, under branches, etc. must be played where they lie, even if they are within reach. If the playing surface is deemed to be an unhittable surface, where damage to a club or golfer may be in play, it can be moved as adhered to the unhittable surface rule: no closer to the hole, and with permission from the other group. This is being done to ensure scores are as accurate and as close as possible. The same is said for balls in the water. You must take the stroke penalty, even if they are within fishable reach.

  • It is a scramble, so both balls must enter the hazard, OB, etc. to have to take the drop, penalty, etc.

  • You will record the score for yourself and for the other team in your foursome. This is done to ensure that the scores are accurate and fair. Please keep score on the Palmetto GC scorecard provided; this will be the only official score allowed for the tournament. Feel free to use the Grint, 18birdies, etc. alongside for your own fun.

  • All rangefinders, yardage readers, apps with GPS (18birdies, the Grint) and similar objects and programs are allowed.

  • All of the Rules of Golf apply except when specified differently by a local or tournament rule.

  • Look good and play good!
