BMW Champ, Clogs, and a Yeti!
Welcome back, Weekend Warriors!
I hope you enjoy!
Here’s What a 1-Day Gutter Upgrade Should Cost You
Today, seniors (even on a fixed income or pension) can afford a modern gutter guard, along with 1-day installation and a 100% no-clog guarantee.
With this new website, you can ‘skip’ the middleman, design a gutter guard that’s right for you, and get (fair) local pricing.
Golf Creator Open
A first of it’s kind event, the Golf Creator Open has been slowly announcing their field over the last few weeks as the October date grows closer, and it’s looking like this field will be more stacked than anyone could have guessed. With fan favorites like The Headband Golfer, ESPGolfTV, The Connected Golfer, and D1Golfs confirmed, as well as many others, not only will this event be very fun to watch, but also very competitive. With a course announcement this Friday, the excitement is only growing for this tourney, and with spectatorship available and encouraged, it’s shaping up to be a an event you definitely do not want to miss. This is the first time we’ve really seen a large batch of creators playing against each other in such a pure and open format, not held back by any type of stipulations or regulations. A truer form of golf than most, it is important to note. I am sure looking forward to this event, held October 3-4, at a course to be announced on Friday. Make sure to follow along with them on Instagram.
Tour Credentials
What: BMW Champ
Where: Caves Valley Golf Club
When: Aug 14 - 17
Semis are here! The BMW Championship is the semifinal event of the regular PGA Tour season, where the top 50 players left in the rankings after last week’s tournament fight it out for the 30 spots in the Tour Championship. While some of the top stars missed out last week, the 2,000 FedEx Cup Points awarded to the winner of this tournament still make a big difference in the rankings, and the money list. But, not as much of an impact as in years past, as this is the first modern Tour Championship format to be played without starting strokes. All players will start at level par, instead of the FedEx Cup Points leader starting at 10 under, second place at 9 under, etc. While this helped make the Tour Champ much more competitive, it also takes away a bit from the meaning given to the BMW Champ, with players fighting for starting strokes in the next tourney as well as the outright win. Nonetheless, the redesigned Caves Valley should prove an entertaining challenge of golf for the players.
Oakley Observations
The Ellipses are back back, this time in a much sleeker, low-key and midnight-esque colorway. Instead of the celebratory gold hues across the 50th anniversary edition pair, this new one is completely blacked out across the board. The same hue of black is used for everything, giving it a jet black, almost militaristic feel that other Oakleys toy around with, but don’t fully commit to like this version. The lenses, interestingly, are a bit more of a grey hue, lightening up the shades on the front. A very cool pair all around, these are online now and can be found right here.

Curated Drops
Malbon Golf x Steve Aoki
Malbon has just dropped a very colorful and creative capsule with Steve Aoki, each piece balanced to the same degree of fun with either a mix of colors, loud designs, or tie-dye graphics. Each piece also comes with a trading card, a collaboration with a game called HiroQuest. Pretty awesome idea, trading cards with clothes are nothing new, but to make custom anime inspired golf trading cards to go along with the clothes helps make the entire experience from first seeing the clothes to receiving them to wearing them remain at the same level of creativity and originality. The collection is live and online right here.
Metalwood x KEEN
Metalwood has announced an off-course focused collaboration with KEEN, an outdoor shoemaker, on at least two crazy pairs of sandals that will release on August 15. The first one looks like if a closed toe Birkenstock met the terminator, outfitted with a much more durable canvas strap, a large rubber outsole that wraps around the toe box, and a very rugged bottom made for any type of terrain. The other sandal is much more water-based, it’s paracord look allowing for easily moving in and out of water, with two different pull cords to tighten. Both sandals use a black and grey motif with pops of volt to give it that extra character. Although I am new to KEEN, I am a fan of rugged sandals like this, and I think both designs in physical makeup and color usage are home runs. They drop this Friday, presumably online at both Metalwood and KEEN.

Nike Victory Tour 4
Back in January at the PGA Show, Nike made its first return in over 5 years with a ginormous booth showing off all the new shoes and clothes. Out of everything there, the shoe that caught my eye the most was this crazy sleek sneaker in a deep red wine color. It was beautiful. It turned out to be the Victory Tour 4, which has dropped in blue, black and white, $500 leather, a BOA lacing system, and after 7 long months, finally, in that beautiful dark red. The maroon Victory Tour 4 is finally here, looking as good as it did the first time I saw it. I will one these one day soon, I feel it. If anyone else feels the same, find them on Nike right here.

WW Community
Big shoutout to my friends over at Social Golf Association out in DC, holding their range night tonight at 7 PM out in DC. These guys always put on a movie for their events, and the fomo is real down here, so make sure to go if you can. Not only is it a great time, but it’s an amazing way to get people into the sport of golf and help’s the sport evolve and become much more communal and relaxed. Stuff you love to see.

Stories from the Sticks
I would rather try a shot to win than play safe and finish second.
