Weekenders Weekly Drop Roundup

The last few weeks have been unbelievably hectic for golf products. Use this cheat sheet to find your new favorite items.

Redan

Redan Golf Club may be a recent company, but this idea has been gestating for years, building on not just decades of design experience but centuries of golf style and luxury fashion. John Buscemi, famous in golf for his yearly FootJoy collection, is now making a bigger mark while staying true to the ethos of traditional golf wear. The brand is very much based around the idea of Italian high fashion while also being playable, whether due to the weight, shape, or material, with a lot of natural tones used alongside long sleeve cashmere polos or sleek tapered pants. The Redan logo, the chequy, is reminiscent of a redan green, which is a type of green that is narrow and slopes away from you (sounds fun). This is almost how the brand has positioned itself; hard to access (you need to apply and be accepted as a member just to purchase clothes) but worth the struggle for it’s uniqueness and it’s beauty whether from up close or far away. While official images are still not out, you can find plenty of teases on their website and Instagram.

Malbon 2

Malbon’s second drop for the spring whisks us back to the glittering hues and dazzling beauty of the Azure Coast, this time trading the ornate blue and gold patterns of the French Riviera for the sun drenched sands of the Italian Coast. Although the the blue is still present, and more malleable in this drop than the first one, appearing in different hues and locations on the few ocean-inspired pieces, the main motif here is the eye catching green and orange stripes seen throughout. Jackets and t-shirts are as infrequent here as they are on a a grandiose Italian day on the water, instead focusing on multiple types of button downs and polos. The stripe motif is so beautiful, and in true Malbon style they take it and move it around, adjust the shape and width, infuse new colors, enabling this one pattern to live and have room to breathe across multiple different silhouettes. The more oceanic pieces adopt that light blue while the green and orange is used throughout, from the umbrellas to the hat to the brand new Vacation Club Buckets. The towel pattern is so awesome too. Definitely a collection that will go down as one of the most entrenched in the location that it is based on, effortlessly bringing the vibes and colors of the Italian Coast to the golf course, and your doorstep. Hypegolf x Post Archive Fashion

Hypegolf and Post Archive Fashion have teamed up for a collection that is not quite techwear, not quite streetwear, but a perfect combination of the essence of both, creating a golf line quite unlike that which I’ve seen before. PAF’s baggy motif is present throughout the drop, a unique draping fit that is seen from their polos to their vests to that extremely icy windbreaker. I am a huge fan of the material mix they use, I think it creates this awesome light layer that has room to breathe, especially with how they cut their products, while being strong enough to withstand wind and rain. The asymmetrical angles, diagonal zippers, hidden pockets, and idiosyncratic cuts on the sleeves and neck give this drop the cool tech wear influence that we are starting to see more and more of in golf. I am a very large fan, and I could see some absolutely insane fits being made from this collection. The two-tone pants rock, the woven track tops are my favorite kind of golf windbreaker, and I think PAF should design all vests worldwide for the rest of time, I just absolutely love how they assaulted it with pockets and stitches and details. Vibe Caddy x Khalhon’

Vibe Caddy, a marketplace for dope golf clothes, is taking their own step into the clothing world with their most recent drop, a small yet loud yet detailed collection of outerwear that brings a flair of retro soccer vibes to the course. Made in conjunction with Khalhon’, it is a cool mix of knit and woven looks that stand by themselves while also primed to be paired with a plethora of different designs. The Golf Club Knit scripting and logos are awesome, I love the collar accents and shape as well. These types of shirts are so dope, I hate long sleeve shirts but love long-sleeve football kits, and these sit right in that happy medium. The coaches jacket is very interesting, and not my usual style honestly, I like the material they use but I don’t think it’s something I would rock, especially buttoned up. But, I love how it works as a canvas for the brand, it’s black and white colors not blocking creativity but working as a malleable base to create on. I like how it is styled on the website, but as they only have their models wearing pieces from the new drop, I would love to see how the people get it going with pops of color from brands like Kith, Malbon, Stone Island. Nike Kicks

After years of watching this new golf boom largely from the sidelines, and finally returning with a PGA Show booth as large as the club manufactures, Nike has finally started to bless the world with a few of their most coveted in pieces, and they are yet to disappoint. After the drop of the Nike Victory Tour 4 BOA a few weeks ago, they followed that up again with the Victory Tour 4 with laces, then closing it out with the Victory Pro 4, Scottie’s favorite shoe. The Tour 4 is a work of art, with black and white cleats, iridescent teal from the Swoosh to the soul plate, multiple upper types, and that beautiful tone across the lining, Nike is not playing any games, whether you lace them up traditionally or like a ski boot. They even dropped the Tour 4 in Rory’s black and white colorway, although Weekenders Weekly is just patiently waiting for the burgundy. Last but not least, this past Saturday saw a new color way of Pegasus 91 golf go out, infusing bits of red across the upper that clash well with the grey and white throughout the rest of the shoe. Nike is starting to come back to full force, proving that not only are they here to make an impact, but they’re really here to stay in this new culture. What’s not here to stay are the shoes, with each model selling out pretty fast. While they go live on the main Nike website, stay tuned to TeeupKickswithChris, NikeGolfKW, and TheSwooshLifePodcast for your drop announcements.
